Here's a little back information on her and the story I want to write about (details not finalized yet): Her name is Iris and she is about fifteen or seventeen years old. She was born in Hangzhou, China, and has two best friends: one boy, one girl. Due to her parents' financial issues and borrowing from one too many loan sharks, they take her parents away and she is forced to move to Japan by herself, without knowing any of the language or customs or anything. She finds a Chinese restaurant near Tokyo and the owner there is a Japanese woman who has studied Chinese culinary in China for a long time. Iris promises to work there and the woman gives her shelter and sends her to a school where she also used to go as a kid. She's usually made fun of because she can't speak Japanese and because she's a Chinese girl, but later on makes friends with a half-Japanese half-Korean girl (not sure yet).
